Summer 2010:
Just doing some sketching lately. I've been fishing alot with a Pat's Rubber Legs and started a sketch of a brown trout based on some pictures from the North Fork of the White from last fall. Here's one I am currently working on. I heard once that when drawing an animal you should start with the eye, because if it doesn't look right the picture will never work. So, the eye is almost complete in this sketch while the rest of the image is just sort of blocked in. I will post some more as I go. Thanks for taking a look.
Winter 2009:
This summer during a trip to Colorado my buddy Dirt and I found a sweet little spot after some serious 4-wheelin' and hiking. Tucked into the mountain was a crystal clear headwater stream with little plunge pools like stairsteps leading up to a five foot fall. The pool beneath the fall was a foamy, bubbly mess except for a 2 foot wide lane of glassy water pressed up against a rock wall on stream left. We found a little native cutthroat in charge of this piece of water. Dirt laid a stimulator down perfectly at the top of the little guy's spot while I was watching from above laying flat against the top of the rock wall. I'll never forget watching that cutt get vertical beneath that fly and follow it for a few feet before taking it. I could not believe the colors on that fish. So, that's what I got cookin' right now. Thanks for checking.
